Self- Supervision: Enhancing Quality of Life

Each waking hour entitles an individual to another wave of obstacles and trials. School works, house chores, family drama, societal pressures, and a lot more glitches come and go as one goes about their day. And no matter how hard one tries to circle around it, it will never go away. Although it is not exclusive, students, particularly, are not new to this. Stress is a daily routine ang whether or not it’s source is pleasant, it just comes down to how one accepts it and handles himself during the encounter.

Self- management is being able to manage one’s medical needs, everyday roles and responsibilities, and as well as emotions to maintain the individual’s holistic well-being. Existing as a human sanctions us to a lot of things, including being inimitable in different ways. Hobbies can be a great way of stress relieving for some. Doing something one loves can clear his mind; giving him time to meditate and think clearly. Furthermore, it can boost one’s mood and enables him to be more assertive rather than aggressive. Being strained and tense meant something went wrong with one’s lifestyle; improving time-management i.e. distinguishing between the “shoulds” and the “musts.”, resting whenever needed, and refining one’s attitude towards tribulations can greatly aid in refining how he deals with it. Each problem requires a unique solution--- one that best fits. Consequently, an individual should learn to adapt; be willing to compromise, take control of the environment, and reframe problems.

These obstacles, whether or not having negative or positive effects, depends solely on how the individual manages himself. It depends on their choice as to how they see life; either in an optimistic or undesirable spectrum. Whilst facing them would be a huge nuisance, dodging them will be worse. Everyone should take those challenges as stepping stones enrichment and enlightenment, thus facing it with great optimism and perceiving it as a notion for self-amelioration.
